Cozumel and Merida, Mexico - 2007
In order to celebrate the graduation of Baker (my son) from high school, we took a 9 day trip to Cozumel and Merida, Mexico in July 2007. Coz was for the snorkeling and diving. Merida was to take 5 days of culinary instruction from the accomplished Chef David Sterling at Los Dos. We enjoyed the atmosphere of one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico plus received expert instruction in Mayan cuisine. Of course, we dined at some great places and visited the Mayan temples and pyramids at Uxmal. Top this off with several days in Cozumel enjoying world class diving with Papa Hogs and you have the perfect father/son vacation. We will enjoy the memories forever and Baker can take this experience with him as he begins his studies at the Culinary Institute of Charleston this fall.
